Please join Inlandia Institute at the Culver Center on April 14, 2024 as we celebrate the launch of the Hillary Gravendyk Poetry Prize Winners for 2022, the artemisia by William S. Barnes (National Winner) and Bones Awaiting the Blaze by Tiffany Elliott (Regional Winner). The program begins at 1:30 PM; doors open at 1:00.

Refreshments will be served.

Will Barnes is the author of two books of poetry: The Ledgerbook (3:A Taos Press, 2016) and the artemisia (Inlandia Institute, 2024), national winner of the 2022 Hillary Gravendyk Prize for Poetry. Poems from the artemisia have appeared in Comstock, Crab Creek, Mudfish, Oberon, and Ocotillo Reviews and the Taos Journal of Poetry, among others.  He is a botanist, former attorney, former middle school science and language arts teacher, and currently works as an ecologist for the New Mexico State Land Office. Tiffany Elliott is an asexual, neuroatypical, and disabled woman and mental health professional who received her MFA from New Mexico State University. Her debut collection, Bones Awaiting the Blaze, was awarded the 2022 Hillary Gravendyk Prize, and her work has appeared in Typehouse, Spectrum, and other journals. Her works explore the mythologies we experience, those we create for ourselves, issues of abuse and trauma, and how people can remake themselves.
