Gayle Brandeis’ Many Restless Concerns (a testimony): The Victims of Countess Bathory Speak in Chorus is a novel-in-prose poems, “a polyphonic protest against silence.” This special chorale-style reading organized by the Women’s Theatre Workshop will be followed by book sales and signing.
In addition to Many Restless Concerns, Gayle Brandeis is the author The Art of Misdiagnosis and The Selfless Bliss of the Body, among seven books for adults and two for young readers. Her poetry, essays, and short fiction have been widely published in places such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, O (The Oprah Magazine). She served as Inlandia Literary Laureate (2012-2014) and currently teaches at Sierra Nevada College and Antioch University.
Women’s Theater Workshop is a place for women to explore their own voices and stories as actors, directors, writers and technicians. Women’s Theatre Workshop is committed to providing a wide range of creative opportunities to women, to educating the community on women’s issues, and to supporting other programs that work to help women and girls.
