 “Hope Springs Eternal”

Live Storytelling with Steve Taken

Thursday, March 4 • 7 PM

Free • Registration required:

In times of trouble we seek to find courage and strength – and to persevere – in the hope that circumstances will take a turn for the better. The Flame’s March storytelling event will embrace the theme of the season with “Hope Springs Eternal.” Our storytellers will share stories of struggle and triumph, and remember that they are resilient and brave.

Stevie Taken
Stevie Taken, of Riverside, has formed her own theatre company, as well as appeared as “Frankenstein” author Mary Shelley over the past two years for the Riverside Dickens Festival.

Stevie Taken is the founder of The Homespun Players, a small Riverside theater group established in 2013. She loves all forms of storytelling and especially admires those who choose to share their experiences with live audiences, a special kind of self-imposed punishment.

The Flame storytelling workshops are supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency. Learn more at; and also in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. To find out more about how the National Endowment for the Arts grants impact individuals and communities, visit
