In conjunction with an installation of typewriters representing their evolution over the decades, join Bob Marshall the Typewriter Muse for his discussion, “Inspiration in Analog.”
There are many ways we can convey our art to the world: paint, music, words; it all comes down to process. While typewriters reigned supreme as business machines for many years, today they are an instrument of choice in writing. Join local author Bob Marshall on a journey through the decades and discover how these former business machines can find new purpose as a muse to your creative writing process. Typewriters provided – bring your imagination.
The installation includes eight typewriters that you can touch as well as one mystery typewriter with an intriguing origin story, under glass.
Riverside native Bob Marshall has conquered his world on two wheels, published hundreds of pages and most recently the podcast and Audiobook arenas. Bob’s adventures wrenching on, riding, and racing motorcycles are chronicled in his magazine writings and his book American Roadrunner. He also shares his love of motorcycles with his podcast by the same name. When it came time to publish his book and audiobook, Bob learned everything he could about the process and successfully published and marketed his book and audiobook with his company: American Road Runner Publishing. Let Bob break down publishing for you like he breaks down and rebuilds the motorcycles he races. He will help you fine-tune your publishing process and share the tools he discovered along his road. He also offers full service publishing facilitation for authors.
