    The Hillary Gravendyk Prize is an open poetry book competition for all writers regardless of the number of previously published poetry collections. The manuscript page limit is 48-100 pages, and Inlandia Institute Press invites all styles and forms of poetry. Only electronic submissions will be accepted via Inlandia’s “Submittable” portal. Multiple submissions are accepted, with a $20 reading fee required for each manuscript. The winners will be announced Fall 2024 for publication in 2025.

    Poetry book manuscripts will be accepted via Submittable from February 1 through April 30, 2024. One National and one Regional prizewinner will each be awarded $1,000 and a standard book contract.

    The Body of Freedom is an expansive collaborative project with the Center for Social Justice & Civil Liberties, the Arts Magnet Program at Ramona High School, Division 9 Gallery, and the Inlandia Institute. The project supported local artists to create inclusive, community-based art workshops rooted in social justice and equity between September 5 - November 14, 2023.

    BIPOC teens ages 14-18 are invited to a writing workshop based on the exhibition “The Impact of Images: Mamie Till’s Courage from Tragedy,” which runs through March 30, 2024 at the Culver Center of the Arts in downtown Riverside. This powerful collection of photographs includes both family photos and extraordinary images made by Black photojournalists, and will inspire the writing, reflection, and insight of a new generation.
