Martinez of Remyth: A Postmodernist Ritual and special guest readers will read from, discuss, and celebrate the publication of their debut poetry collections. The Silk the Moths Ignore animates the liminal, sometimes gothic, spaces of miscarriage, pregnancy, and early parenthood. It sings, bleeds, and casts spells to "carry hope like a weight." Remyth: A Postmodernist Ritual is Hip-Hop and Punk. It's high art meeting low art at the church altar. It is a baptism and an exorcism. A Works Cited page at the crossroads with remix culture. Bronwen Tate writes poems and essays that have appeared in The Rumpus, Bennington Review, Contemporary Literature, and elsewhere. She lives in Vancouver, BC and teaches in the School of Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia.
