Youth Writer’s Camp is a 10-week youth-focused program using creative writing and poetry as coping tools, working with mental health, poetry, and book production professionals all culminating in publishing young people’s works. This program is a partnership between Youth Writer’s Camp Inc. and Inlandia Institute, working together to provide free opportunities for teens for self-expression. It is made possible with funding from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation and the City of Riverside City Sponsorship program. Additional funding provided by the California Arts Council.

Workshop leader Brandon Allen is a nationally featured poet, speaker, and founder of Youth Writers Camp Inc., a nonprofit that helps youth turn pain into purpose through writing, mentorship, and healing-centered storytelling. A published author and TEDx speaker, Brandon has worked with schools, nonprofits, and creative communities across the country.
His personal journey of overcoming depression, combined with his faith, fuels his mission to empower the next generation through emotional expression, literacy, and leadership. Brandon is passionate about creating safe spaces where young people can heal, grow, and discover that their voice holds power.
