Inlandia Institute Pura Madre Creative Workshops for Moms are no cost workshops aimed to serve Latine moms (of all ages) in the Inland Empire. As creative moms we recognize that tending to our craft is often dependent on whether or not we have childcare.
Pura Madre is proud to offer concurrent creative workshops for moms and their children (ages 5 and up) to give moms that time. There will be two six week sessions offered at The Cheech/Riverside Art Museum, with the children’s workshops taking place at the RAM. Museums are next to each other.
Workshops will take place on Saturdays. The poetry and prose session will run every Saturday from January 10-February 14, and the printmaking and ceramics session will every Saturday from March 7- April 11.
As part of the program participants works will be included in the Pura Madre Anthology.
On May 9th, 2026 there will be a Pura Madre book release and celebration to mark the end of the sessions and the release of the anthology. The celebration will be for participants, their families, and the community.
While all moms are invited to apply, priority is given to Latine moms, and moms who are able to complete the entire series they choose. For example, if you sign up for poetry with Alma Rosa Azul, it is our expectation that you attend the entire six weeks.
These workshops are made possible with the generosity from a grant from the California Arts Council, and partnership with The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture, the Riverside Art Museum, and with the support of Inlandia Institute members and community.
